Ealing Council has recently said it will slash 40 jobs. Lib Dem Group Leader, Councillor Harvey Rose, has called for the Council to make sure that any cuts it makes do not affect front line services.

In a speech during last night's meeting of Ealing Council, Liberal Democrat Councillor for Ealing Common and parliamentary campaigner for Ealing Central and Acton Jon Ball has hit out at the indiscriminate way that Ealing Council is issuing parking tickets for both parking and moving traffic offences and the poor attitude that it shows to residents who appeal. He warned that this threatens to erode the trust between the citizen and the state.

It has been reported a number of times that many building workers are drilling and causing noise disturbance on Sundays and many Saturdays. The Council and the law set down rules when such work is allowed. Yet many companies are breaking thee rules without the Council taking action.

Ealing Southall Liberal Democrat campaigner Nigel Bakhai has slammed the three local Labour MPs in Ealing for backing the Government's controversial plans to extend the length of time terror suspects can be held without charge to 42 days.
