Ealing Southall stretches from Southall, Norwood Green and Greenford in the west through Hanwell and Northfields to the Walpole, Ealing Broadway and Ealing Common wards of central Ealing. At the 2005 General Election, the Liberal Democrats moved into a clear second place in Ealing Southall, which they maintained at the 2007 by-election, halving the Labour majority and causing serious national damage to the credibility of David Cameron's Conservatives. Leader of the Liberal Democrats Menzies Campbell today visited Ealing Southall for the seventh time and declared that the Liberal Democrats are neck and neck with Labour. Police to investigate theft of Lib Dem stake-boards. Ealing police are to investigate a number of thefts of Liberal Democrat stake-boards from across Ealing Southall. Hundreds of local residents have been displaying Liberal Democrat posters and stake-boards in their gardens and windows backing Nigel Bakhai's campaign. The car park underneath Oakleigh Court on The Avenue has become a no-go area for local residents at night. Tue 17th Jul 2007: Rennard: Sharma is taking voters for granted. Executive Committee of Ealing Borough Lib DemsThe campaigning and running of the Ealing Southall Liberal Democrats is done through the Executive Committee of the Ealing Borough party. The Executive has three committee places reserved for members of Ealing Southall, who are elected on an annual basis.
